Description:
The Eppendorf BioFlo 120 is a bench-scale bioprocess control station designed for research and process development in both microbial fermentation and cell culture workflows. Eppendorf positions the platform as a flexible R&D system that can be used with reusable glass vessels as well as BioBLU single-use bioreactors, making it a strong fit for labs that want a controller that can adapt to different applications over time.
This configuration is especially well suited for fermentation labs that want a compact, capable system for bench-scale cultivation, optimization, and process development. Your listed unit includes a glass vessel setup for microbial work along with the accessories needed for agitation, gassing, temperature control, and measurement, making it a practical choice for users who want a complete working platform rather than a bare controller. The BioFlo 120 is also designed to support batch, fed-batch, and continuous or perfusion-style processes, which adds useful flexibility for development work.
A major strength of the BioFlo 120 platform is versatility. Eppendorf highlights its compatibility with a wide variety of autoclavable and single-use bioreactors, along with support for both sensitive mammalian cell culture and more demanding microbial cultures on the same controller. For buyers who want a system that can support evolving workflows without stepping into a much larger pilot platform, that flexibility is one of the BioFlo 120’s biggest advantages.
Its compact footprint and straightforward setup also make it appealing for academic, government, and industrial labs that need strong process control without giving up valuable bench space. In practical terms, it is a good fit for organizations looking for an established Eppendorf bioprocess platform for fermentation development, small-scale cultivation, and day-to-day R&D use.
